MPA Recruitment has been appointed by a leading organisation in Qatar to source a Contract Manager specialising in roads and highways projects. This is a senior level position at the centre of a challenging program of major infrastructure works.
You will be involved in several projects of a very large scale and have a value of up to £1bn each. These projects are typically multi-lane, dual carriageway with grade separated interchanges. They will include the provision of the major trunk utility services, typically underground including drainage, power, water reticulation, sewerage, treated sewage effluent (TSE), telecommunication services, and others.
This role is part of a large team and will be responsible for whole process of tendering the projects until the award to successful tenderer and full compliance of the contracts in the best interest of the organisation during design and construction stages, including commercial close out.
You will be responsible for monitoring and auditing the performance of the Consultant / Contractors in managing the financial and procurement activities of the projects. You will assist with the development of the contracts and procurement strategy, policies, procedures and best practices. You will ensure the correct execution of procedures for award and administration of projects; administer the contractual aspects of the projects; verify and audit claims, payments, variations, contractual issues for projects.
You will have substantial experience in managing the contractual aspects of major highway projects. You will have good knowledge and experience of Design-Bid-Build (DBB) and Design & Build (D&B) contract forms related to major road projects; you will also have a sound knowledge of the contract administration aspects of major civil & Infrastructure projects Including roads, bridges and utilities with experience in procurement and contract administration. You will be experienced in International contracting mechanisms such as FIDIC and in the assessment of claims and variations on major infrastructure projects.
