Consultant Neurologist

Job description

MPA Recruitment has been appointed by the NHS in Northern Ireland to source a Consultant Neurologist for The Western Health and Social Care Trust.

The successful candidate will assist in further developing neurology services with their prime responsibility being for patient care, best diagnosing and team leadership, involvement in clinical governance, education and training.

Key clinical skills:

  • Will have designated clinical responsibility for seeing outpatient neurology referrals.
  • Will provide a focus for neurology input to the acute medical unit and general medical wards supporting patient care through ward consults and subsequent follow up.
  • Will develop close links with the existing neurologists and other clinical colleagues.
  • Will promote and develop multidisciplinary teamwork within the specialty.
  • Will hold outpatient clinics, as required, for patients within the specialty group and will develop specialty specific clinics.
  • Will be responsible for providing procedures relating to the specialty and will develop same in keeping with medical advances.

To qualify for this position, you need:

  • Full Registration or Eligibility for full registered with GMC
  • A Certificate of Completed Specialist Training (CCT)
  • Current full driving license (valid for use in UK)
  • Completed the IELTS or OET exam, if required
