MPA are currently recruiting a Commercial Account Handler for their client, a well known locally owned insurance company based in Belfast.

 

Essential Criteria

3 years’ experience in a commercial insurance environment.

Computer literate, with the ability to create and update computer records, including the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and generate reports as and when necessary.

Can represent the company’s brand throughout the market upholding our reputation at all times.

Able to effectively manage their own day, is self-motivated and can use initiative.

Excellent written and spoken English, communicating effectively with their colleagues and customers, utilising a variety of media, and has the skills to build new relationships and maintain existing relationships.

An effective, willing and enthusiastic team player.

Can organise attendance at a variety of business events as and when required in order to maintain relationships with insurers, brokers and clients.

Holds 5 or more GCSE or “O” levels including English and Maths

 

Desirable Requirements

Have a working knowledge of Open GI general Insurance software.

Qualified to Cert CII standard

 

The Job Role

Place all types of commercial risks within the market.

Identify opportunities for existing policyholders to benefit additional covers.

Where necessary, visit clients with account executive and explore their commercial requirements, identifying any potential for other business and notifying the relevant departments of these opportunities.

Identify and pursue marketing opportunities to generate leads and to write new commercial polices.

Liaise with the rest of the team, providing assistance where necessary.

Establish and maintain relationships with existing and new clients, insurers or providers and brokers.

Ensure quotations are logged in and out, with administration well organised and accounts settled accordingly.

Report to line manager and keep informed of any backlogs or delays and any disputes or issues that may arise.

Handling of customer complaints in accordance with company procedures.

Raise debits and credits in an accurate and timely manner.

Maintaining FCA compliance at all times.

Complying with all company policies and procedures, including health and safety procedures.

Carrying out any other functions deemed necessary for the effective operation of the department.

 

Additional Information

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

20 days annual leave plus 11 statutory days, with additional annual leave accruing based on length of service.
