Job:Clerical Officer Business Support

As a member of the Business Support Team the clerical officer will be expected to contribute to the delivery of the Parks Business Plan. The post holder will provide a comprehensive clerical / administrative service within the parks section of the Operations Department. This section consists of Head of Service, Parks staff and Cemeteries staff and the post will require flexible working in a dynamic environment.

Hours of work: 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday,

Salary : £10.60 PH

What the role entails:

  • Provide a full range of administrative services to the Head of Service, Section Managers, and all officers within the parks section.
  • Use all Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and provide support to Officers in the use of these packages. Ensure the presentational quality of outgoing correspondence is in line with corporate communication standards.
  • Deal courteously and effectively with requests and complaints from members of the public, Elected Members, stakeholders, and external agencies: at reception, by email and by telephone. Ensure that complaints are dealt with in accordance with the Council’s complaints system.
  • Use booking software and carry out all procedures of administration in connection with booking parks facilities as required
  • Administer claims for goodwill and complete public accident report forms in accordance with Council policy

Essential Criteria.

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s (Grades A-C) to include English and Maths or equivalent Consideration may be given to those candidates who do not hold the above academic qualification but who can demonstrate a minimum of 3 year’s relevant experience as below.

A minimum of 1 years’ administrative / clerical experience to include dealing with the general public

· Good planning and organisational skills

· Excellent customer service skills

· Effective organisational and time management skills

· Ability to work with minimum supervision

· High degree of discretion and confidentiality

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows applications
