MPA are actively seeking to recruit TWO Full time Band 2 Ward Clark Admin’s for roles in two separate departments within the Ulster Hospital.
The two successful candidates will be required to carry out any administrative duties required on the ward. This will include answering the telephone, updating patient’s notes and other responsibilities as outlined below.
Location - Dundonald, Belfast
Hours of Work - Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm or 8.30am-4.30pm or 9am - 5pm, whatever suits the candidate best
Salary - £9.21ph
Length of post- approx. 3months Temporary but strong possibility these jobs will candidates are free to apply for the permanent post directly
What the Ward Clark Roles specifically entail:
- Check and open all post delivered to ward. If addressed to ward manager or staff, leave in the ward managers office.
- Check Daily state book/ Whiteboard for admissions and discharges, admit any patient onto system if required
- Print ADF/ Admission form and RIV Labels 2 copies for any new patients
- Check where notes are for new patients on PAS.
- Check chart trolley.
- Sort out and file discharged patients paperwork into correct order and file
- Check for any older filing around work station
- Check stock for photocopying
- Find charts and track to destination.
Other general administration Duties:
- Phone calls - e.g. from relatives/nurses from other wards/ultra-sound
- Making up Admission packs
- Booking ambulances for patients who are being discharged home or elsewhere e.g nursing homes
- Photocopying
- Phone GPs - notify of death
- Good House Keeping is essential on ward. Tidying Desk Space, Phone etc.
Essential Criteria:
- Four GCSE’s (Grade C or above) to include English Language or equivalent qualifications
OR
- One year’s clerical experience

- Can demonstrate a capable level of ability
