MPA Recruitment have been appointed by the NHS to source Bio-medical Scientists for two laboratory hospital locations in Colchester and Ipswich who have recently invested in a multi-million pound pathology molecular testing lab and require the assistance of Band 7 bio-medical scientists to help get it up and running.
The laboratory will be focussing on delivering new innovations with a high performing pathology service focussed on patients by using modern diagnostic tool kits ranging from COVID -19,MRSA, flu and rapid cancer tests. The laboratory will also be implementing regular testing of asymptomatic NHS staff using LAMP (loop mediated isothermal amplification) devices on saliva samples. Samples will be able to be processed from start to finish due to being completely self-sufficient without the need to outsource or rely on other testing sites.
Essential criteria are as follows:
- BSc Biomedical Science degree
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Completion f IBMS Specialist Portfolio or Proven post registration experience (2-3 years minimum)
- Experiences of working alone during out of hours service & willingness to participate in the out of hours service were applicable
Locum and Permanents positions are available for the right candidate and Band 7 pay rates dependent on shift and experience.
