Ambulance Logistics Coordinator 

 

The post holder has a key role in ensuring that the Northern Ireland Ambulance service vehicles are ready for active service, in terms of cleanliness, fuelling, and maintenance as required.  The post holder will be expected to plan, co-ordinate and run the day to day cleaning team to ensure optimum cleaning of all ambulance service vehicles, ambulance service equipment and ambulance service premises, in accordance with national guidelines and NIAS policies and procedures. 

 Excellent co-ordination skills will mean that frequency parameters are met, infection prevention control standards are maintained and records such as vehicle cleaning and premises cleaning, are accurately completed and stored.

The post holder is expected to manage and work with other staff effectively to ensure efficient working practices and standards are in place and maintained while delivering a high quality service.

The post holder will support the management tier in effectively managing the cleaning team to ensure cleaning standards and local targets are met and exceeded.

The post holder may be expected to assist with vehicle, equipment or premises cleaning following completion of key tasks, where work load dictates.

The post holder will be responsible for other key tasks to ensure ambulances are ready for use including co-ordination of re-fuelling ambulances, topping up fluids etc. as required to maintain service delivery. This may require driving ambulances for refuelling etc. Other key tasks will include co-ordination of vehicle maintenance, both routine and unplanned. 

The post holder will be required to drive ambulance vehicles, reposition them on Trust property and drive on public roads to ensure vehicles are available at the correct location for the delivery of front line services.

The post holder will be expected to ensure replenishment of  relevant equipment and products required for cleaning duties through internal ordering systems.

In the delivery of the above, the post holder will contribute to a safe, clean and cared for environment, for the benefit of staff and patients transported by the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS).
