Job Description

Financial Controller in the Food Industry:

Candidate will be resposible for all financial and accounting matters in a multi-product environment as a member of the company's senior management team. Contribute to cross-functional strategic planning to achieve company objectives.

Produce weekly, monthly and annual accounts incorporating weekly KPI's ownership.

 

Job Role(s)

  • Responsible for all aspects of cost accounting and financial strategic planning in a multi-product environment, establishing forecasts based on new product introductions and variance reporting.
  • Development of budgets for each of the business units.
  • Development of budgets for each of the business units.
  • Time and accurate
  • - Weekly gross margain reports
  • - Weekly KPI's representing all areas
  • - Monthly Management Accounts and other MIS reporting (e.g. sales reports, produt reports, margain reports etc)
  • - Customer Profitablity
  • Ensure tax, audit and company statutory compliance issues are in order (incl PAYE/PRSI and Vat returns, annual filing)
  • Salaries - monthly/weekly. Controls and reconciliations
  • Cash Management, Credit Control and Cost Control.
  • IT support and development
  • Manage debtors days and creditors days to optimise cash available, and cash flow.

 

Qualifications Required

  • Accountancy Qualification - ACA, CIMA or ACCA equivalent is essential.
  • Extensive cost accounting experience in a food multi-product environment is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in the coordination of all aspects of Financial accounting, ie. month-end reporting, financial statutory accounts preparation, adhering to strict internal corporate controls, working with internal/external auditors, etc. US GAAP, IFRS and SOX experience would be an advantage.
  • Relevant industrial accounting experience, preferably within a large food processing environment, of between 5-10 years.
  • Strong business acumen and professionalism, with the ability to interface effectively at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong costing, cost analysis and driving related improvements.
  • Highly developed leadership, interpersonal, and people management skills with strength in planning and objective setting for a team of people.
  • Proven Continuous Improvement and change management experience willing to discover best practices and strive to achieve them.
