Job Description

Our client a leader in Engineering excellence is currently seeking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for their ever expanding company.

Duties:

•Design, develop and project manage new products from concept to production.
•Design products which support Design for Manufacture / Assembly.
•Produce full manufacturing specification package including Engineer BOMs.
•Ensure current and new products meet standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and
reliability including compliance to local legislations and standards.
•Reduce product costs through improved designs and consultation with the production and purchasing
departments.
•Maintain Engineering Changes in line with company procedures.
•Create equipment operation manuals and all relevant safety documentation.

Job Role(s)

Essential Criteria:

•A degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant discipline with 2 years related design development
work experience in quarry or heavy plant sector
OR
•A HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent) along with 3-5 years
related work experience in quarry or heavy plant sector.
•Highly proficient user of AutoCad and 3D Solidworks.
•Excellent planning and organisational skills.
•Competent with Microsoft Office packages.
•Excellent team working and communication/presentation skills.

Desirable Criteria

•Familiar with Product Data Management (PDM).
•Practical knowledge of Plant and Machinery standards.
•Knowledge of Structural Steel Design.

Salary: £23K to £30K per annum, depending on experience
